Yoga, Yoga, Yoga!

First, Dexter news... He had his post op appt this week and all is looking good so far. The healing will take 6-9 months. But, we are optimistic and happy that the suregry is behind us.
Dexter is a crazy little guy and very fast! He crawls aways from me while I'm trying to change his poopy diapers. I can't take my eyes off of him for even a minute or he'll be into something or getting himself hurt.
I think tooth number 7 is about to poke through! He's had some really restless nights, so that may be why.

Here is how I have to block him in so I can make dinner. He figured out that he can crawl under those chairs, so I have put couch pillows under those so he can't get through.
He's got a big week coming up! I'll explain in my next post.

I mentioned in a previous post that I was starting a new part time job. Things have started, and I'm super busy! Just to make this clear to anyone that I work with that reads my blog... This side project will NOT in anyway effect my performance at my full time job. The work is done in my free time.
My new venture is being the Marketing Manager for a new yoga studio opening in my area.
The owner was my pre-natal teacher at the studio I've been going to for a few years. A few months back I heard that she was going out on her own and I contacted her to see if I could do some side work for her in exchange for free classes. She is super ambitious so the opportunity has turned into so much more than I had originally planned on.
I'm super excited! I love yoga so this is fun work. And, there are so many events that I can bring Dexter along to. ALSO, being tattooed is A-Ok!  I met with a business owner recently about promoting us and I was wearing a sleeveless shirt!
We open October 2nd. We have an awesome grand opening day planned, with free yoga all day!

Dexter Recovering... And, Sara's Relax the Baby Momma Day!

Dexter seems to be doing quite well. He's had a few very restless nights since the surgery, but otherwise he's always ready to play!
He's standing and moving along furniture like a pro! He's also getting pretty good at slowly sitting down from standing. Everyday he completely amazes me with how quickly he's learning.
We need to get him some good walking shoes soon! It won't be long.
Dexter is obsessed with waving. He waves "hi", "bye, bye", waves at the TV, and to the cat and dog.
Waving at the TV... (Don't mind Justin's foot :)
Over the weekend my best friend Sara and I celebrated her pregnancy and new baby girl, due October 4th! Our day included massages, lunch, and baby gifts. Can't wait to meet her little human!
Unfortunately, we the only pic we took was of the desert. It was delish!

Surgery Day

The day came that we had been dreading...surgery day.  Dexter was born with hernias. We were advised to wait until he was about 6 months old to see if things would work themselves out on their own. Unfortunately, things did not, so we had to schedule the surgery.  The procedure is fairly common, but we were still pretty scared. It was his first time under anesthesia and you never know how someone is going to react until they have it.
He couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight the night before. I was so worried that he was going to be super cranky and starving at hospital. Just the opposite happened! Poor little guy was hungry, but he was also so interested in all of the things and the people at the hospital that he really didn't get upset.
Before surgery, being weighed. Dexter was so cute in his little gown.
Sitting in the waiting area felt like forever.  I just wanted to see my baby and know that he was alright.
Once the surgery was completed the doc spoke with us and let us know that everything went well.  Dexter will have more follow ups with the doc over the next year to make sure the procedure was able to correct everything
Here he is right after, in recovery...Very hungry.
He was acting fine when we got home. Then about an hour later the sadness began. He cried so much and he was having trouble keeping his formula down. I held him the whole afternoon and slept with him that night. (Which was the first time he ever slept beside me all night.)  He woke about every couple hours crying. It was so sad.  Then the next morning around 7am he was happy as can be. It was strange, the anesthesia must have making him sick.
The evening of, laying on my shoulder, exhausted :(

The day after, Best Buds. I should note, he is pulling up like a pro now!

Daddy got him an activity table! He absolutely loves it. Can you tell?

Crawling and into EVERYTHING!

Dexter officially started crawling last Thursday. One day shy of his 8 Month birthday.
I couldn't believe it when I he got up on all fours and scurried across the floor to grab the remote. It's amazing how fast he went from just sitting in one place, playing with toys to pulling open drawers and checking out electrical sockets! The baby proofing has begun.
He has a few little bruises on his head right now from trying to pull up things. It seems like he's always on a mission. He get's super excited when he crawls over to the dog and grabs onto his legs, haha. Unfortunalty he's also been trying to get Bateman's gross toy too.
We also started giving him his bath without the baby tub. Which has been a little challenging since he wants to crawls around in there. He LOVES splashing!
He looks so innocent here :)

I have a busy few months coming up. Including, Justin and I taking a trip without Dexter :( and I've taken on some fun side work...full story to come soon!
