Mondays... Yuck

It's Monday once again. Dexter was his happy little self this morning. I hate leaving him at 7:30am. Yup, 7:30 am, and it sux. (It's not 7:30 everyday, sometimes I leave a little later and drop him off, but not Mondays.) I won't see him again until around 5:30. That's a long time away from him.
I've said it before, I don't really want to be a stay-at-home Mom. I just don't think I would be content. But, working only part time would be awesome. Maybe one day, but for now I'm missing him becoming a little boy.
Over the weekend his grandparents came to visit. He just loves when there other people to show off to!
We also went to Mommy and Me Yoga class. This is the studio I'm working for part time (still have a full time job too). Dexter loved the play room! At first he stuck by my side, which I loved because he's never very clingy, so it makes me feel good when he does want to hang onto me. After a few shy moments he was off to explore. These photos are kinda dark...

On with the rest of my Monday! Which includes, work, more work, and then picking up my sweet baby!

Pumpkin Patch! Somebody is Walking (Pretty Much)

When Dexter was between 3-4 months old we puchased Yo Gabba Gabba Live tickets for him. We had no idea what a 10 month old baby would be like back then! There is no way that he would sit through more than 5 minutes of anything, especially if we are somewhere new that he'd want to explore. So,we sold the tickets. Luckily, we found a last minute buyer. It would have been cool to see Biz's Beats, but not worth fighting to hold Dexter in the seat.
Instead of seeing the show, we headed to a Pumpkin Patch! They also had some farm animals, hayrides, and designer popcorn, haha. Dexter loved seeing the animals! But of course he just wanted to grab everything, including the grass and dirt. The pumpkins were pretty well picked over. I was hoping to have Dexter stand up with the pumpkins for photos, but all of the pumpkins left were tiny, so he just crawled around them.

Our friends Ian and Heather and their boys went to the Pumpkin Patch with us. The boys had their pumpkins painted, Spiderman and a not so good version of Iron Man!

Dexter has starting taking multiple steps at a time! He'll walk 5-6 steps then fall down to crawl.

Welcome to the World London James!

My best friend, Sara, had a beautiful baby boy last week!
October 5th 2010 at 1:25pm. He was 8lb 7oz and 22 inches long! His name is London James!
Two surprises here: First, they had been expecting and prepared for a GIRL! I guess you can't trust an ultrasound.
Secondly, Sara is super tiny and pushed out a BIG baby!
Momma and baby are doing great. She has not had time (I assume) to post her birth story yet, but check out her blog... Sara's Blog
Dexter and I stopped by to visit London over the weekend. Dexter is a wild man! I spent the whole visit chasing him. He was super excited to meet London!

10 Months

My sweet baby dragon!
Dexter turned 10 months old last week. This year is going by so fast. He's still walking along the furniture, he's getting a lot faster!
It's really been bothering me lately how much of his day I miss while I'm at work. Most days when I pick him up from the sitter he looks slighter bigger and older. While I wish I could be with him all day, I really am lucky that I found such a great sitter. Jennifer somehow manages to balance it all. I don't know how she does it.
Dexter really likes playing with the other kids. The two older girls make him laugh, and he wrestles and plays with Hudson, which is about the same age. Dexter bit Hudson on the leg the other day while playing and left a mark.  We've really been trying to work on teaching him how to touch nicely instead of biting, pinching, and smacking. I think it's starting to work.

Of course I think about my baby all day long. Here are some things I reflect on that make me smile:
♥Dexter covers his little face with a blanket, then pulls it away to play peak-a-boo
♥ During the night when I'm trying to get him back to sleep, but he just wants to giggle and grab my nose
♥When he laughs so hard he gets the hiccups
♥How excited Dexter gets when I let him crawl in an area he never goes, like the dining room.
♥His baby talk, I love when it seems like he's telling a whole story
♥Splashing in the tub
♥His wet baby kisses, that he usually plants on my chin or eye
♥His smile when he sees his Daddy
