Photo Shoot & First Thanksgiving!

I cannot believe my little baby will be one year old tomorrow! The birthday party prep is in full swing! His party is this coming Saturday. We are expecting 30-40 people... in our tiny house! But, we've got it all figured out.
My mom flew in on Saturday and she is here all week to spend time with Dexter and to help with the party.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Dexter's first Thanksgiving, in Wilmington with Justin's side of the family. While we were in town, Justin's Mom, Nana, set up an appt to get Dexter's one year/holiday photos done. It was not really a fun time, haha. Dexter would not stay still! He's a toddler now, so I guess I can't expect him to, but it was rough. He had all kinds of props to play with, but he just wanted the sticks they use to pull the curtain back! Here are the decent photos...

Dexter is eating all kinds of table foods now. He loves pears! Here he is eating his Thanksgiving dinner, making one of his funny faces...

Party Planning

Dexter turns 1 year old in 10 days. The party is 13 days away. Planning, planning, planning. I'm so excited! It's so funny that no matter how many times I talk to Dexter about his party and tell him what I'm planning, he will still be completely surprised! He's going to love having all of the people at his house, the kids, tearing open presents, and trying cake (cupcake) for the first time!

Random Ranting

I have never been so busy and worked so hard for such little pay, haha. Just had to get that out there. I'm working a full and part time job right now. Things should be looking up in that department by January, but until then I'm financially uncomfortable. I miss the days of being able to go buy new clothes every month. Or just spend $50 at Target on meaningless junk. So most would say, start looking for a new job, go back into Sales, you'll make more money, like you used to.
Here are my reasons why I'm sticking with what I've got, at least for a while... My day job allows me freedom, I don't mind the work, it's not very stressful, my boss is understanding when it comes to taking time off to be with Dexter. My Part time job marketing for the yoga center is what is adding to my busy, hard work schedule. We have been open almost three weeks. Things are going very well. But, a lot of is asked of me, there is a lot to do, and a lot of pressure to make things work. Sure I get free yoga, but while I'm there practicing, it's really hard not to think of things I need to get done. Defeating the purpose of yoga for destressing. We'll see what happens with my situation. I'm a very committed person who doesn't like change, so it's hard for me to quit or change jobs.

Here I am blogging when there is GIANT "to do" list sitting next to me.
Damn it.

I'd also like to note that Dexter was sick with a bad cold last week. We took him to the doc and he had a double ear infection. It was sad. He's feeling much better now. That brings me to my next rant... Sleep
Holy crap I miss sleeping. With teething, being sick and whatever else it seems like he hasn't sleep a whole week through the night since he was about 4 months old. This causing a lot of late night, delirious arguments between Justin and I. Some terrible things are said at 4am. When Momma works too getting up during the night is a responsibility that MUST be shared.
Ok, so one more thing... I'm working on planning Dexter's FIRST birthday party! Whohooo.

Happy Halloween!

I keep seeing all of these Fall Fashion 2010 posts.... I wish I had time to take photos to participate in it. Seems fun! Maybe by the Winter one I'll be able to make time and I can do a working woman's fashion post, haha.
Ok, onto Halloween. This post will be pic heavy! My little boy made the most handsome little shark ever!
Saturday night we went to a party at the Yoga Center I work for. Dexter was the life of the party, as always.
Saturday he also turned 11 months old! He's walking more than crawling now. And as you can tell by his face, hurting himself constantly. Falling into things all of the time. He currently has a fat lip and a large scratch above his right eye.
I'm working on feeding him table foods. So far he likes tofu (no flavor, just firm tofu), sweet potato fries and bananas. I haven't tried too much else. He does take a bite of most things I'm eating. It's hard to introduce new things to him because I want to do it and not have the sitter do it.
No Halloween candy this year for Dexter, but he did have a lot of fun :)

I was a lifeguard and Justin was a surfer with a shark bite taken out of his board.
Sara and Kary came as cowboy and girl and London was a baby cow :)

Cinderella (my friend, Cynthia)
 Dexter with his Friend, Felix!
I may be posting more Halloween pics soon. I need to find one with all of us in it, or at least Daddy!
