Last Week Being a SAHM...

I tried to relax and just enjoy my last week at home with Dexter.
Monday I cleaned the house, top to bottom.  I have no idea when I'm going to have time for cleaning once I'm back to work. Tuesday my MIL came to visit and let me run out for some last minute shopping and errands. She also watched Dexter at night so Justin and I could go to dinner and a movie!  Wednesday my friend, Nicole and her baby, Jude, came by for a play date. I forgot to get a pic of the kids. Jude is 7 or 8 weeks now. Both of the boys napped for the most part.  Thursday I really just tried to do nothing, but hang out with Dexter.  Friday afternoon we went to the children's consignment sale at the Cabarrus Arena with my friend Lisa and her daughter Peyton. I also forgot to get a pic of this outing.  We purchased some clothes and a few toys. I'm weird about second hand stuff, when I don't know who owned it before.  I wouldn't buy any toys that could not be fully sanitized, nothing with cloth on it.  Dexter was wide awake the whole time and such a good boy!

Friday night was rough... I get really bad migraines, and I started getting one while we were at the consignment sale. I took some Excedrin Migraine and hoped for the best. By Friday night, after putting Dexter to bed, I was in a lot of pain. I had taken another 1/2 Excedrin, all that did was make me very sick to my stomach. I couldn't sleep, I threw up a few times during the night. The headache lasted into Saturday, on and off.
Pre-pregnancy, I took Excedrin Migraine to manage my headaches. I was taking it a couple times a month. Now it seems that it doesn't work for me anymore. During pregnancy, I took Floricet. But, only when my headaches were really bad. I had a couple brutal migraines during pregnancy, one during my last week, I thought I was going to die, seriously.
The point of my story is: I work for Neurologists, I need to make an appt, and soon!

Here are a few pics from our week. I can't stop cuddling him!

His legs and arms are always going crazy.
Milk drunk face...
Taking a poop.
Sleeping..zzzz....
Playing with Mommy :)
Practicing "tummy time"... Still not into it.
Last day of Mommy and Me yoga. He was cranky during class and kept spitting up. Then during relaxation time, he completely passed out.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This past Friday I left Dexter with the babysitter for the first time. It wasn't easy to leave him, but since I was only going to be gone for a few hrs and I was close by, shopping, I knew that I could just go get him at anytime. That made it easier than it will be on the real first day. He seemed to have a fun time. He really likes being around other kids and babies.
This week is my last week at home with Dexter. I'm so sad, but I'm going to try to make the most of it, and try not to think about having to leave him.

Dexter with "Valentine", the lion <3

Kisses!

Bateman loves Dexter!

At yoga class, waking up before class starts.

Weight loss, my issues update:
I've been able to go to the gym 3 days a week and I'm hoping that will not change once I start back to work. It's going to be difficult, but it must be done. I have about 12 lbs left to lose (I gained 45, I know, holy crap), plus toning.  I'm still doing really well controlling my diet... no Valentine's chocolates for me!
A nurse taught our post pardum yoga class this week and she confirmed what I had thought, that when you have a C-section it takes even longer for your stomach muscles to tighten and bloating to go away. Because the muscles were cut...bummer.  My stomach is still numb too, from my incision to my belly button.

Almost Over :(

I only have 2 weeks left until I have to go back to work, and leave Dexter with the babysitter. I'm so sad about having to leave him. I feel like I'm going to miss out on so many smiles, and I may miss when he rolls over for the first time or other milestones. During his first month I was really stressed out and depressed. I thought that I just wasn't cut out to be a Mom.
As the weeks passed I became more and more comfortable with him and taking care of him. I know I'm not the best Mom, but now I know I can do it and I enjoy it. I would love nothing more than to stay home and take care of him, but it's just not an option for us. I'm cherishing every single moment I have with him right now.

So here's what Dexter has been up to lately:
He is learning to grab onto some of his toys. He's been very vocal, he'll "talk" for 10 or 15 minutes sometimes, it's hilarious. He still isn't a big fan of tummy time.
He had his 2 month check up this past week. The doc told us that he's spitting up a lot due to reflux (it seems like every baby gets this). So, we've started him on formula with rice in it.  He also got his shots. It was awful, I've never seen him scream like that :(
Dexter is gaining weight at a good rate, he's up to 11 lbs, 1 oz. That's about average... he's still tall and skinny, ha.

This caterpillar is his favorite toy right now. He likes to grab and squeeze it. It makes crinkle noises.

Here are 2 projects I must tackle in the next two weeks:
My closet. It's filled with maternity clothes and pre-pregnancy clothes that I don't fit into yet. I'm going shopping this week to basically buy a new wordrobe, or as much of one as I can afford.  Then I have to clear out and rearrange my closet... this will be quite a task.

Project #2 is catching up on Dexter's baby book. I've got a lot done, but I want to get it all caught up to 2 months, because I know I'll have even less time for things like this soon.
